One of our main goals as a society is to help build a sense of community among writers and that need has never been more apparent. Writing is by definition a solitary activity, and with social distancing, quarantines, and self-isolations 2020 has drastically increased the feelings of isolation and loneliness many of us face regularly. What started last year as a great way to have fun while writing, this year’s Write-a-Thon was a balm to the solitary soul. With 27 writers, 12 special guests, and 8 hours of writing, collaboration, and fun, we met all our goals and we hope you did too.
We planned the Write-a-Thon with four objectives, and are happy to say that we surpassed our own expectations in each area:
